‘Küy’ is an important philosophical and musical concept in Kazakh culture. Apart from its function of dividing styles, it spreads from psychological directions of ‘spirit’ and ‘emotion’ and comprehends all matters, which has become a descriptive and narrative term. The ‘küy’ has endured through the changes of time dating back from pre-Islamic era of Kazakhstan. Is ‘küshy’ (the musician who compose and play küy) being able to escape from traditional musical symbols and forms, try to restore the core of küy with contemporary sound expression – a supreme sensational concentration achieved through sound, an impromptu based on the emotions of the surrounding, an autonomous derivative and development motivated in energy accumulation.
